The rapid growth of online platforms and AI creates opportunities for malign actors to threaten democracy and the health of the global information environment. ESOC is working to evaluate and improve the quality of the information environment through the application of new tools, data, and scientific approaches. 

Our works covers three broad areas: 

• Identifying and measuring the impact of foreign influence campaigns.
• Developing tools to understand the threats to information integrity presented by generative AI. 
• Evaluating the factors and actors influencing information dissemination and engagement.
