Saurabh Pant is currently an Assistant Professor (Lecturer in UK terminology) in the Department of Government at the University of Essex. He was a previously a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse from 2018 to 2020. He obtained a Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton University in 2018, where he worked with ESOC. Saurabh's research interests lie at the intersection of international relations and comparative politics. He studies the political economy of conflict and militancy in divided societies. Some of his research has been published or is forthcoming in the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Theoretical Politics, and South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies. He received a BA in Economics and Mathematics from New York University and an MPA in Public and Economic Policy from the London School of Economics.
