Mitch Downey received his Ph.D. in economics at the University of California, San Diego. His research interests include non-military means of conflict intervention and prevention. He previously worked on crime policy research at the Urban Institute. He has a Masters in Economics and Bachelors degrees in Economics and Mathematics, all from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
