Bio/Description
Laura Courchesne is an ESOC Research Fellow, working with Dr. Jacob N. Shapiro on projects related to the economics of disinformation and state-sponsored information operations. She is a PhD candidate in International Relations at the University of Oxford and a 2017 Rhodes Scholar. Her research examines how state militaries and armed groups adopt and use information and communication technology during conflict. She has also consulted for Google's Jigsaw and Schmidt Futures, a technology-focused non-profit. She received a Masters in International Relations from the University of Oxford and degrees in Economics and Religious Studies from the University of Georgia.
