Gustavo Robles

Bio/Description
Gustavo Robles is PhD candidate in Political Science at Stanford University with specialization in Political Methodology and Comparative Politics. He is a 2014 – 2015 Pre-Doctoral Fellow and a researcher for the Program on Poverty and Governance at the Center for Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL). His research interests include the economics of crime and violence in Latin America, political economy of development, and legislative studies. He is currently working on his PhD dissertation on the dynamics and consequences of drug-related violence in Mexico. Before attending Stanford, he worked at Evercore Partners as a financial advisor of states and municipalities in Mexico and as an economic analyst in the Mexican Minister of Finance. He holds a M.A. in Economics from Stanford and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM).
