Carolin is a Data Analyst with Crisis Group's Future of Conflict Program and the Empirical Studies of Conflict project. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Lausanne.
Carolin’s research primarily examines climate security issues, including projects on floods and displacement dynamics in South Sudan, drought and land control changes in Somalia, as well as environmental destruction and illicit economies in the Amazon.
Prior to joining ESOC and Crisis Group, Carolin worked on the World Trade Organization's World Trade Report 2021. Before that, she was a research assistant working on a project investigating the political economy of propaganda at the University of Lausanne. During a year of social service, she supported a job training center for young women from rural areas in Timor-Leste.
