Thomas Scherer is a Program Officer with the United States Institute for Peace. His dissertation is on the strategic interactions of peacekeeping and the motives of rebel and government actors. He also studies nuclear policy, international emergency response, gender in conflict, and micro-level analysis of violence. He has worked as a research assistant for Peter Katzenstein, Jacob Shapiro, and at the Mario Einaudi Center for International Relations.
